ONE OF A KIND
Trackspacer creates space in a mix by carving the frequencies that the main track needs into another track in real time. Similar to a sidechain compressor, but a thousand times more powerful and transparent. It’s considered a secret mixing weapon by many artists, producers and engineers.
SECRET MIXING WEAPON
Trackspacer features a 32 band EQ that reacts to the incoming sidechain signal. It analyses the spectrum of the sidechain and applies a reversed EQ curve to another track. That way you are creating space for a certain track by cutting the exact frequencies that it needs in realtime to another track.
With version 2.0 the plugin was improved by introducing new functionalities for better sound control. Introducing M/S or L/R modes now you can apply the effect only to the mid channel, the sides or anything in between. With the attack and release controls now you can set how Trackspacer reacts to the incoming signal and how it processes it, making it smoother or punchier like a regular compressor.
Audio processors react to an input signal and produce an output one. This input signal can be the direct or external, the external is also called “side-chain”. It is very common to use a sidechain compressor, specially in EDM, to duck a track based on the level of another audio track (i.e. pumping effect).
TRACKSPACER VS COMPRESSION
Compressors react to the amplitude / volume / level of the audio signal. Based on how loud the source signal is, they apply more or less compression. Multiband compressors split the signal in different bands and apply different settings on each band, but the detection is still the same as regular ones.
Trackspacer splits the source signal in 32 bands and analyses them individually. Then, it reverses the result and applies a 32 band EQ to duck exactly the same frequencies that the source needs… and in real time! That’s why it’s much better, transparent and easy to use than regular compressors, it’s all about detection.
Trackspacer only works when a sidechain signal is received, otherwise it wonÆt do anything.
In order to set up the sidechain correctly in your DAW you can simply search for a tutorial on YouTube, I know this is not a very elegant solution but itÆs very quick.

– New and bigger UI.
– Lighter CPU.
– Better UX with one single installer for both demo and full versions.
– Dropped support for RTAS, Windows XP and Vista and MacOS 10.5 and 10.6.
– Bigger label for parameter values.
– New binary name “Trackspacer25”, it works in conjunction with the old version in order to be able to run old projects.
– New plug-in name, labeled as “TrackSpacer 2.5” in your DAW.
There is some issue with 2.5.1, it doesn’t show in Reaper 5.80 mac, but 2.5.0 works perfectly. Also some issues with saved settings etc.
