Spektral Delay differs from other audio effects in that it uses realtime FFT (Fast Fourier Transformation) to split up both channels of a stereo signal into as many as 160 separately modifiable frequency bands. The level, delay time, and feedback amount for each band can be set separately. The delay times can be set freely or in rhythm via a selectable note grid, up to a maximum delay time of 12 seconds. The effects achievable with frequency-band delay include rather subtle colorings as well as rhythmic arpeggiation of the partial tones, and dense, atmospheric sound textures that defy description. Various modulation effects can be applied to the signal in the frequency domain which allows even further sound manipulation.

Spektral Delay offers exceptional possibilities for creative sound design – from subtle corrections and rich effects to the total transmogrification of the input signal. Nevertheless, Spektral Delay is easy to use, since all parameters are controlled intuitively and comfortably from a sophisticated graphical user interface. Spektral Delay runs in either standalone mode or as a plug-in. It offers professional sound quality and can be fully controlled by MIDI.

The NI-SPEKTRAL DELAY differs from the many other
audio effects in that it uses real-time FFT (Fast

internally). The level, delay time and feedback
amount for each of this bands can be set separately.
