P2P | 29 October 2021 | 8.53 GB

This course is designed for students who want to learn how to play the piano properly using The “Two-Part System.” No previous music knowledge or piano playing experience required.

The “Two-Part System” is a comprehensive and progressive approach in learning how to play the piano by mastering the right hand capability covering the 12 natural notes (from the Middle C to the higher G in the second octave) and two enharmonic notes, namely (F# and Bb).

At the start of Lesson 5, basic chord shapes are introduced for the left hand to learn and master. In this lesson, the concentration is shifted to the left hand, learning the basic chord shapes and practicing the changing between two chords by playing very common piano pieces. At the end of Lesson 11, both hands shall be able to play simple traditional tunes with easy arrangements concentrating on the first 5 natural notes (middle C to G) for the right hand and the three basic chord shapes for the left hand (Root position of C Major, First Inversion of G7, and Second Inversion of F Major). Starting Lesson 12, a new fingering pattern is introduced to the right hand to learn how play the notes, A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. Alongside these notes is the introduction of additional chords for the left hand starting with D7, C7, and Bb in different hand positions. In Lesson 13, the eighth note is being introduced for the right hand, with the application of the broken chords for the left hand.

Some of the main playing instructions are included in the lessons covering legato, staccato, lead-in notes, first and second endings, arpeggios, chord inversions, scales and key signatures.

At the end of Lesson 31, the student shall be able to learn how to read and play fifty different songs with easy arrangements.
