Circuit Bending was a term first used to refer to the art of taking an ordinary electronic toy such as a Texas Instruments Speak&Spell, and rewiring the circuitry to produce a device capable of creating all manner of weird and unlikely sounds.

Circuit Bent instruments are used by many bands and producers including: Kraftwerk, Hallucinogen, Plump DJ’s, Shpongle, Jack Dangers (Meat Beat Manifesto), Nine Inch Nails, Autechre, Aphex Twin, Eat Static, 16 Volt, matrix22 and numerous experimental, industrial, techno and ambient artists.

The Loopmasters Circuit Bent Sounds and Samples series have been created in conjunction with Paul Norris of Circuitbenders.co.uk – a devoted expert at the art of circuit bending, and a signed recording artist in his own right. Recycling noise since 2001. circuitbenders was the first website in the UK offering circuit bent machines for sale alongside dozens of mods for electronic toys, drum machines, synths and samplers. Pauls machines are featured on music from artists as diverse as The Chemical Brothers and REM, along with hundreds of independent producers worldwide.

Circuit Bent Sounds volume 1 features over 700Mb of Glitched out and Buzzed up Drum samples and loops for producers working in all Dance Styles including Dubstep, Minimal, Electro and Drum and Bass. This collection of over 750 samples and 300 Loops includes Drumloops and some Music Loops plus hundreds of Hits and SFX samples from a huge collection of the circuit bent toys which Paul has collected and modified over the years.
