Version 1.6 of iFace, an interface plug-in for RedWirez impulse response libraries. iFace is here to change the way you interact with your RedWirez impulse response libraries. Be done with the manual navigation methods of the past, and discover the best interface for one of the best IR libraries around!

Changes in iFace v1.6:

  • Saving your selections as their own Cabinet Files.
  • Using external Cabinets.
  • Support for Recabinet 2.02 through Menu Templates.
  • Support for ALL Redwirez cabinets.
  • New, more organized internal menu.
  • Cabinet Blend slider.
  • Serial and parallel convolution.

Using external Cabinets
New to iFace 1.6 is the ability to use external cabinets. This is done via custom menu system. The menu system is completely customizable so that you can name your cabinets what you want without ever changing their file names on disk. This is important because you may have other projects that rely on those files and by renaming them you are effectively breaking links to those projects. So we included a defineable menu system that allows you to name the files anything you like and do some minor organization of them. If you have installed iFace to the same folder as any other new ABG application, you will only need to create your menu once and the menu will be available to all of them.
This is done with a secondary application called Menu Maker, shown below..

Built in support for Recabinet 2.02 complete through Menu Templates
Although iFace does not support Recabinet through its native interface, it does now support it through the external cabinet menu system, and there is a menu template included that adds friendly names to each selection. The menus are customizable so you can make them as categorized as you like, the image below shows a menu for “Recab 2.02 complete” that is very categorized. Each selection is separated by Package, Cabinet, Power tube, Mic and Finally Mic technique. As we say, this is quite a divisive menuy and as you can see it can get a litle messy, but this serves to illustrate how in depth you can go with the menu system. All of this is done without ever changing a single filename or folder. So your existing projects will not loose their links to their files as a result of renaming.

Support for external Cabinet library documentation
If you note in the above menu, there is a selection for documentation, if the IR library comes with documentation then it is also visible from within iFace. In fact, iFace will support any registered windows file type (with the exception of .wav), by executing the application associated with the file type.

Support for ALL Redwirez cabinets
AcmeBarGig has been busy, but so have our friends at the Red 5 Group, makers of the Redwirez Cabinet Library. Redwirez have added new cabinets and iFace 1.6 now supports them all.

New more organized Red wires menu
iFace 1.6 has a new internal Redwirez menu system for Cabinet selection and is grouped by cabinet type. This makes it easier for you to get to the cabinet and speaker you want to use.

Cabinet Blend slider
iFace 1.6 now has a slider that allows you to quickly change the blend between cabinets.

Serial and Parallel convolution is now supported.
You can now run iFace in serial or parallel convolution. This means that you can use any ambient IR file and use the cabinet as the sound source for the ambient file.
